I was hired by Courtney to take six month photos of her son Madden. She saw photos I had taken of my cousin Lisa’s kids and thought I could take some of her family and I said, “Well, of course, I would love to!”. The reason I’m mentioning this is because it’s the first time I’ve been hired by someone that is not a direct friend or family member! So a big thank you to them!
They live in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago and so I suggested we meet at the park itself early-ish in the morning to get the best use of the morning light. I arrived early to get the layout of the park and took some pictures of the fountain and flowers surrounding it. As soon as they arrived I knew we’d have a great time! Madden is such a cutie and was a good sport even though at first he was questioning the giant camera in his face. While we we were by the fountain he was so intrigued with the water (as many children are) and so many of the pictures I took have him looking in that direction!
We moved to take some pictures under the trees where Madden proceeded to eat some delicious dirt and grass and whatever else was in the grass. Yum!
Finally we moved to a park bench, and that’s when all silliness ensued as they got that kid laughing super hard! Which of course got the parents (and the photographer) giggling. It was hilarious!
This was such a fun way for me to enjoy a Saturday morning and I hope they had as much fun as I did.
