Emmi contacted me back in the winter to see if I’d have an interest in photographing her upcoming summer wedding (which was slated one day after my anniversary, so a good time of year in my opinion!). Emmi was one of Lucy’s teachers back when she was at the JCC daycare and we *loved* her. She also did some babysitting for us, and Lucy was always so excited to see her.
I was a little apprehensive on shooting the wedding alone because I had never done a wedding alone, AND I wouldn’t be able to stay for the full reception because I was still nursing Veronica and would need to run home and deal with that. Luckily I’ve worked with an amazing photographer in the past and so I suggested we both do it, which Emmi and Ben were exited about it. So Gaby of Isabela Photo and I got together again for this wedding.
In the end I had *so* much fun with this wedding. I’m always pretty nervous, but Emmi and Ben are amazing and fun and it was just fun to be a part of their day. The ceremony was beyond beautiful and heartfelt and you could absolutely feel and understand the happiness and love between these two. After the ceremony they were very cute and funny saying, “Hey Wife! Hey Husband!” Loved it.
To get from the ceremony in Winnemac Park to the reception at Dank House most of the guests walked with kazoos and balloons ala parade style.
Emmi’s Dad’s band played the reception and her dad sang a song he had written for the occasion. Which I can’t even. A fun reception with everyone dancing and partying.
Congratulations Emmi & Ben! I’m so happy for you! (And Lucy said, “Emmi looks BEAUTIFUL!” when I showed her the pictures. She’s not wrong in the slightest).
