Mimic

Today, I was doing some work as Veronica was napping and Rocky who I thought needed a nap was trying to nap. He came downstairs and asked me if he was done sleeping (which I love). So I don’t know if he actually fell asleep or just took some time to take some quiet time. Either way his attitude was better when he “woke up”. He asked me, “What are we going to do now?” I said, “Oh, I have to finish up some work stuff right now, I should be done soon.”

So I was going about some physics work, some photography work, some work for the school board I’m on etc. I looked over to him on the floor with a “pile of stuff” and asked what he was doing.

He said, “This is my work.”

I looked at my work. And then at his pile of stuff.

And was astounded.

They mimic. All the time.

This. This happened and I know it’s such a small thing, but it just reminded me to pay attention. Because they might just have “piles of stuff” but those piles mean something to them, and frequently have more details than you could imagine.
