I was a second shooter for a wedding last month in Naperville, IL. I was asked to take pictures of the guys prep (at the groom’s parents house), followed by portraits and the ceremony. I didn’t stay this time for the reception. The day was a scorcher, but everyone was a trooper for all the pictures at different shooting locations.
We had a good time at the grooms house (Hello Basement of Fun with your pool table, bar and all chicago sports things decorating the walls), before getting onto a trolley to pick up the girls and continue on to the venue. The groom kept a eye mask on, so as to not ruin the first look at the venue.
After pictures at the venue, everyone went back onto the trolley for some pictures down by the river. The entire day with the wedding party was a rocking good time. Lots of laughing and toasting and even some dancing on the trolley (because why not!). They had a big wedding party, and everyone in it was excited for the couple.
The ceremony saw a bartender (that the couple knew) as officiant (using mixing a manhattan as a metaphor for a marriage, which I think worked), so many friends and family, and the bride and grooms daughter in a fancied up wagon that couldn’t have been cuter.
Congratulations you two! Hope your day was as fun as it looked from the outside and you have a wonderful life together!
